COVID-19 Testing Results

We have great news to share!

All residents at The Cove and The Willows have tested negative for COVID-19.

As you know, on Tuesday we completed onsite state-mandated testing of all our residents and staff.  All staff at The Willows have tested negative

On Monday, our screening process revealed that an employee with no direct resident care duties at The Cove exhibited symptoms, and was sent off-campus to a site for testing before the start of their shift. This employee has tested positive and is isolating for recovery at home. A second employee (with no direct resident care duties at either building) called out sick because we have instructed employees to do so if they are experiencing any symptoms or illness. They were sent to an off-campus site for testing and the results came back positive. This employee is also isolating at home for recovery. We immediately began the contact tracing protocol at The Cove and The Willows, and those select individuals with whom they have come into contact have tested negative and are not considered at risk.

The highest level of priority we have placed on strict infection control procedures has proven to be most effective. Our screening process at entrances to The Cove and The Willows is working well to stop the spread of the virus before it enters our four walls. That process, combined with pre- and during-shift screening and education for staff to identify and self-monitor their symptoms at home prior to coming to work, are an important line of defense in the fight against COVID-19.

We will not stop our vigilance. We will not let our guard down. And we will never stop caring for your family member as one of our own.  Never before than at any other time in our history, has this statement been more true. We are the Grace Barker Health “family” and, together, we will get through this.

Sincerely,
