COVID-19 Update: Important Update November 13, 2020

Dear Families of Residents at The Cove:

During the most recent round of surveillance testing, results show that several staff members are positive for COVID-19. Per Centers for Disease Control and Rhode Island Department of Health guidance, these staff members were immediately sent home to quarantine. They can only return to work when their quarantine periods have ended and they no longer test positive for the coronavirus.

At this time, we have not detected any resident cases. If a resident does test positive, we will reach out to notify their family members directly. Please do not call The Cove to ask for information regarding test results, as fielding such questions takes our staff away from direct care for our residents.

As Rhode Island is currently experiencing a surge in cases, we continue to closely monitor all residents and staff for signs and symptoms of the coronavirus. We are doing everything within our power to mitigate transmission risk within all of our buildings here at Grace Barker Health, and will keep you updated on any new developments.

Don’t forget to avail yourself of internet technology we provide via Skype and Zoom; or to send a card or letter to stay in touch with your loved one. Regular “virtual” contact can help brighten and lift their spirits in more ways than you know.

Thank you for your continued support and, please, stay safe.

Sincerely,

Mark Lescault, Administrator
Benjamin Lescault, Assistant Administrator
Mary Beth Lescault, Director of Nursing Services
