COVID-19 Updates

COVID-19 Update: Visitation Update November 4, 2020

Dear Families of Residents at The Cove and The Willows:

We have just received notification from the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) that increased visitor restrictions are strongly recommended for all nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the state.

Per this guidance, effective today The Cove and The Willows are transitioning back to Level 3 restriction temporarily, until further state guidance is issued.

We will remain at Level 3 until we receive further guidance from both the RIDOH and the Centers for Disease Control, and we can deem it safe to resume visitation. We are preparing a plan for what visitation may look like during the upcoming holiday season once we are given the approval to lift restrictions.

Remote communications for virtual visits with your loved one is encouraged. Whether it’s via Skype, Zoom, telephone, U.S. mail, or email, regular contact can help lessen the isolation our residents may experience during this time period. Please be sure to avail yourself of the internet technology we provide, or send a letter or card to brighten their spirits and stay in touch.

Special thanks go out to the many family members who have observed and respected the strict rules we’ve had to put in place over the last eight months regarding visitation. Because of this, we have maintained our virus-free status since April and intend to keep it that way. This is remarkable, given the community spread of COVID-19 throughout other nursing and assisted living homes.

Our number one priority is keeping all residents and staff safe. This is our life’s work, and what drives us to provide the highest quality care for the Grace Barker Health family, every hour of every day. Rest assured we wouldn’t keep you from your loved one for a minute if it weren’t for this public health crisis we are all experiencing.

Sincerely,

Mark Lescault, Administrator
Benjamin Lescault, Assistant Administrator
Mary Beth Lescault, Director of Nursing Services
