COVID-19 Vaccine Booster

Dear Families of Residents at The Cove and The Willows:

As you may be aware, COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine booster doses are now approved by the FDA for distribution to eligible persons.

Grace Barker Health will be partnering with Alert Ambulance to administer the Pfizer booster vaccine to our residents. As of today, we have scheduled the first onsite clinic for The Cove. The Willows’ first onsite clinic date will be confirmed soon. Alert Ambulance will bring a sufficient supply of shots to the clinic v. us keeping a supply inventory onsite.

Prior to the clinic date, we will be reaching out to you regarding completing and returning the necessary consent forms for your loved one.

COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine booster doses will be available for residents who received their second Pfizer dose at least 6 months ago. Feel free to call with any questions you may have about your loved one’s eligibility and vaccine status. Since Moderna and Johnson & Johnson booster vaccines are not yet approved by the FDA, Alert Ambulance will only be able to administer the Pfizer shots to our residents.

Rest assured we are still continuing to test staff and residents weekly per R.I. Department of Health guidance, due to concerns about the delta variant and community spread. As of this letter, all residents and staff remain COVID-free.

To help keep our buildings COVID-free, we ask that you wear masks at all times for indoor visits (not required for outdoor visitation), and restrict your indoor visits to 3 people at a time with physical distancing observed. If you’re not feeling well, please consider a virtual visit via phone or Skype/FaceTime instead.

As healthcare providers, we thank you for getting vaccinated to reduce community spread of the coronavirus and to help put a stop to the virus finding its next host.

Our priority is to keep our residents, staff and visitors safe, and we sincerely appreciate your continued understanding and personal responsibility in this goal as well.

Sincerely,

Mark Lescault, Administrator
Benjamin Lescault, Assistant Administrator
