Important Message re: Non-Essential Phone Calls

March 17, 2020

As all visitation to The Cove at Grace Barker has been suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have received a higher volume of phone calls from family members inquiring about their loved one’s health and well-being. We have also received a fair amount of non-essential phone calls.

Our priority is to allow staff to spend as much time delivering hands-on care for residents as possible, so we ask that you limit your phone inquiries.

Our Nursing Department staff will now take only emergency calls, physician consultation, laboratory results, and other essential communication by phone.

All other non-emergency and non-essential phone calls will be forwarded to our Activities Department staff’s voicemail. This voicemail will be checked as frequently as possible, and calls returned when possible within a reasonable timeframe.  Be sure to leave your name, the reason for your call, and a phone number at which to reach you.

Please follow this guidance and use your best judgment for calling The Cove. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Mary Beth Lescault, RN
Director of Nursing
